Hello! I'm John...
I’m a techno-geek turned voice actor whose many character voices and narration have been heard all over the world and in many guises:
From a Posh British talking dog to a Cockney reindeer thug.
From a salty Scottish sea captain to (several instances of) Sir David Attenborough.
And with a background in audio engineering & a super-quiet home studio, I can guarantee flawless audio quality with the absolute minimum of fuss.
Hear me....
These are my principle demos; there are several, more niche samples of specific genres and accents on the “Samples” page.

Warm, educated, trustworthy with a side of cheeky humour
A Yorkshireman exiled in London, my voice has been heard in more countries than I can name. And that’s not just because I’m terrible at geography.
I’ve recorded for clients in the USA, Canada, France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and even the UK(!), in commercials, museum exhibits, animations, games and many, many audio dramas. The vast majority of these I have recorded from my broadcast-quality home studio.
I was a rather late-starter to the voice acting business, having already worked for many years in the computer industry and, before that, as a theatre lighting and sound engineer.
As a result, I’ve met a lot of different people in many walks of life, each one a different character, giving me a pool of accents, styles and quirks to draw inspiration from when creating a new character voice.
Having lived in various places around the British Isles over the years, my natural speaking voice seems to have given up settling on a regional accent. Instead, I’ve become an “accent chameleon”, slipping into West Yorkshire, Bristolian, Welsh (N), London, Scots (central), Midlands and various others like I still lived there.
With a degree in physics, a pedantic English-teacher for a mother and a past career in technical writing, I’m a fully-qualified nerd who loves pronouncing long, sciencey words.
Singing has been a part of my life since I first went “whaaa!”. I’ve sung in rock bands (whilst sitting behind a drum kit) and am currently a tenor in two high-standard chamber choirs (not behind a drum kit).
I’m proudly neurospicy, having been blessed with the double-whammy of Autism and ADHD. That probably explains my love of Lego!
